Infrastructure – built according to ecological aspects

“Low density – no massification”: Balcón del Mar, for example, has a building density of just 22%. The rest of the 156,404 square metres is pristine nature or newly created flora – which provides a new habitat for native wildlife.

A school and public sports grounds for various different sports are planned for construction within the resort. Residents will also benefit from a restaurant (with a putting / chipping green on the roof) and a swimming landscape with various pools and water activities for young and old.

Ecology

A small lake on the resort serves as the water reserve. Specially developed biodegradable foam mixed into the earth below the Parque Golf and green areas reduces the evaporation of water by 70% (certified by the Universities of Bremen and Wageningen). We use “controlled and slow release fertilisers” on this resort as well. These special ecological capsules with a resin membrane release fertilisers over a three-month period to avoid excess fertilisation. When combined with the foam in the earth, 0% (!) of fertilisers contaminate the groundwater at the Key Resorts (with conventional methods: 85%) and fertiliser consumption is reduced by 66%.

The irrigation system for the Parque Golf and the shower facilities in the pool area at Balcón del Mar is free of legionella, with low algae and microbiological contamination, through the inclusion of ionised oxygen (German process). This chemica-freel treatment method is certified by the University of Bremen.

Construction and living – 100% ecological

To protect the environment and the bioclimate, we have decided on a terraced construction in line with the topography for our houses at Balcón del Mar. This construction style is harmoniously integrated into the landscape and uses the natural mountain slope, making excessive digging unnecessary. The thermal inertia in the massive construction with thick walls and the mountain keeps the temperate in living spaces at a constant level. Well-ventilated rooms create an air current, which continuously cools warm indoor air. The pristine mountain vegetation is restored through an ecological and easy-to-care-for rooftop garden of fragrant native herbs, such as lavender, sage, thyme and rosemary. Small springs, pools and carefully selected vegetation ensure cooling through evaporation. Small cultivated green areas and rooms store the cool evening air, thus protecting the living areas from the heat of the day.

The terraced arrangement of the individual buildings guarantees that each apartment has an unobstructed view of the golf course and the beautiful landscape to the sea over the cultivated rooftop gardens.

Another special feature of this construction method is that all levels can be reached without climbing stairs – lifts have been installed to bring you to your home.

Golf
