Ruin in Italy

This property is a Medieval watch tower dating back to the year 1200 i n need of total restoration. There are 160 m2 in its height with a basis measuring 5X5m, therefore the restoration project should foresee 5 levels. The tower is surrounded by a 4000 m2 vineyard which produces 50 quintals of DOC Frascati White Wine. As it is located on the top of a small hill the views are excellent: Rome can be seen on one side and vineyards and olive groves on the other. The highway is 10 minutes away and Monteporzio Catone, the Castelli Romani full of history and tradition, are all within easy reach. Rome, the Eternal City, the world renown touristic attraction has more to offer than just the Colosseum, St. Peter's, Piazza Navona and the rest of its impressive historical center. This is where many of the sights are located but even 2000 years ago "Caput Mundi", (the head of the world), as Rome was called, stretched out beyond the city walls and into the "campagna romana" (Roman countryside). In those areas the rural villas of the wealthy Romans were located, along the consular roads where the mauseoleums and tombs of influential and well-off Roman families lined up. Here, medieval watch towers, farm houses, antique aqueducts, remains of the consular roads which were part of the Roman Empire blend with modern architecture. This property is located on a hilltop on the border between Southern Rome and the "Castelli" area, where lovely medieval towns rise around lakes and hills. If you are looking for something special like living in an original Medieval watch tower, out in the country and yet close to the city, this is the property you should consider
