Alexis Island, Brazil

A Brazilian businessman who frequently flew into the Recife airport noticed this island from the air and decided he wanted to have it. He built the house over thirty years ago (the house is made from rocks indigenous to the island), and used it as a weekend and summer retreat. The island includes 30 acres, and it is surrounded by the ocean, with three beaches that are ideal for snorkeling or swimming. The primary residence is 1,000 square feet.

Alexis Island is a unique jewel, resting in the clear Atlantic Ocean waters, blessed with sandy beaches, an astonishing natural beauty and a paradisiacal atmosphere. There are no legal restrictions to foreigners or nationals purchasing or owning the island or executing a resort/development construction project.

Location

Located 2 miles off the continent in front of the coastal city of Barra de Serinhaen and 70 kilometers south of the major metropolitan center of Recife, Pernambuco, North East of Brazil.

While it would make an ideal investment for a tourism-based resort the current infrastructure on the island is mainly for private occupancy. Its central plateau is covered in green tropical vegetation with hardwood trees, fruits and flowers. This large flat area offers a number of options for resort development, recreational infrastructure or personal projects. The front beach-hold area with its calm waters facing the continent has plenty of space to build a dock and recreational facilities.

Surrounding Area

With sunny weather 9 months of the year, warm temperatures, emerald green ocean and marvelous beaches this area is ideal for tourism. Several first class hotels have been build in the area and more are under construction. As recognition of its tourist potential, the Brazilian government is implementing a large scale project called Golden Coast designed to attract international tourism investment and more than increase the areas overall value.

The island is next to the popular calm and turquoise beaches of Toquinho, Gamela, Guadalupe and Carneiros. Also close to the rivers of Formoso and Serinhaen, with amazing natural mangrove and river arms penetrating the continent while offering interesting locations for boating and fishing and water sports in general. Within its surroundings you can find important recreational resort locations such as Serranbi and Porto de Galinhas to the north and Tamandare and Sao Jose da Coroa Grande to the south.
